The term ‘pharaoh’ is the Greek word form of the Egyptian ‘pero’ which was the designation for the royal palace and means `Great House. The early monarchs of Egypt were not known as pharaoh but as king.To become a pharaoh was by no means an easy work.

It required a long  time of hard training that started were early in a prince’s life. children went through a series of lessons and practice. Many of these lessons focused on build a physical strength because the pharaoh often fought at the head of his army.

The pharaohs were also the priests and made offerings to the gods. Only the kings and priests were allowed to enter the temples which were believed to house the gods whose spirits resided in their statues.Pharaohs always had a big beard. In most cases it was a fake beard.

In real-life, most Egyptian men were not having beard, but pharaohs, and princess, wore fake beards. Usually the beards were plaited like a big braid. It was believed that the pharaoh connect closer to the gods.
